16 | TORONTO CONFERENCE TORONTO CONFERENCE SEPTEMBER 2017 - AGA KHAN MUSEUM On July 29, 2017, IAWF, in partnership with Tirgan, held its first international Iranian Women’s Leadership Conference in the prestigious Aga Khan Museum in Toronto, Canada. The conference was sold out one month in advance, with more than 80 people on the waiting list. Iranian American Women Foundation received strong support from the Canadian government at both federal and provincial levels. A special video message from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was a pleasant surprise for the audience. In addition, they were honored to have Minister Kirsty Duncan, Premier Kathleen Wynne, and Minister Reza Moridi speak in person at the opening session. Panels and workshops featured speakers from Canada and the United States, including Parisa Khosravi (keynote speaker), Senior Vice President & Managing Editor of International Newsgathering, and many other accomplished women. Attendees were uplifted and inspired by successful women from all walks of life to work hard, pursue their dreams, and show the world the strength of Iranian women. The strong positive feedback that was received from the audience in Toronto reminded IAWF that the contribution knows no boundaries and encourages them to expand their operations to other countries. The Iranian American Women Foundation would like to thank all of the speakers, exhibitors, participants, Toronto planning committee, and volunteers for joining IAWF and making the event possible with their great support. They are particularly grateful for Tirgan’s dedication to this project and commitment to perfecting every single aspect of this event.
