Tamila Ebrahimi Ipema
Tamila Ebrahimi Ipema, Judge of the San Diego Superior Court, received her Master’s degree in Humanities in 1985, and her J.D. degree in 1988, from the University of Louisville in Kentucky. In 1994, Tamila received her LL.M. degree in International and Comparative Law from the Georgetown University School of Law. In 1995, she accepted a position with the United States Department of Justice as an Assistant District Counsel for the I.N.S. She served in that capacity in Los Angeles, Arlington, and Baltimore. In 2005, the Judges of the Los Angeles Superior Court appointed Tamila to the position of Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner. In 2008, the Judges of the San Diego Superior Court appointed Tamila to the position of San Diego Superior Court Commissioner. On January 23, 2009, Tamila was appointed by Governor Schwarzenegger to the position of Judge of the San Diego Superior Court. She currently presides over a family law court In Vista Courthouse. Tamila serves as a Master at the North County Inns of Court. She serves on the Education Committee for the San Diego Superior Court. She trains the temporary judges on judicial conduct and demeanor, fairness, elimination of bias, and issues arising from Americans with Disabilities Act. She has also served as a Seminar Leader at the B.E. Witkin Judicial College for the past four years.
