Member Spotlight: Jeyran Ghara  

 

Jeyran Ghara is a financial advisor with Bernstein Global Wealth Management, advising high-net-worth individuals, families, foundations and endowments as well as small to mid-size businesses regarding their investment strategies.

 

 

 

Member Achievement: Farnaz Fassihi

 

Congratulations to Farnaz Fassihi, a senior Middle East correspondent for the Wall Street Journal, who has been awarded a Nieman Fellowship at Harvard University.

 

 

 

 

 

 

IAWF Presents Two Scholarship Awards at APSIH Event

To encourage the high achievement of Iranian-American youth, IAWF recently sponsored two scholarship awards to graduating students who have demonstrated outstanding track records in the pursuit of their academic goals. The awards were presented on Sunday, May 18 during a special graduation ceremony and annual event conducted by the Association of Professors and Scholars of Iranian Heritage (APSIH).

 

During the ceremony, two students who graduated at the conclusion of the 2013-14 academic year were recognized for their high academic achievement.  Tina Ahmadi Talesh graduated with a bachelor's degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from UCLA, and Kiana Askari graduated with a Master of Science in Engineering Managementfrom Cal State Polytechnic University Pomona. Ms. Aggie Afarinesh from IAWF presented the awards during the ceremony.  IAWF congratulates each of the recipients and wishes them the utmost success in their future endeavors.

 

 

IAWF Unveils Newest Up Close and Personal Video

 

 

 

IAWF recently launched the third in a series of Up Close and Personal Videos on our Web site.  The newest video, featuring artist Fatemeh Burns, can be accessed by clicking here.

The purpose of the Up Close and Personal series is for Iranian-American women to share their inspiring stories for the benefit of our community.  Our goal is to produce 100 interviews during the next several years.
