Biography

Sima is the former director of the Fundamentals of Medicine course in the undergraduate Medical Education Department at SU medical college and currently serves as an affiliate associate professor. Upon completing her medical training in Saint Petersburg, she spent a number of years volunteering with the British Red Cross and the Multiple Sclerosis Society in the UK, and working at a number of international universities before engaging more in academic medicine, specifically gearing towards Medical Education. She has been involved in instructing ‘Introduction to Clinical Medicine’ teaching the art of the physical exam and history taking to junior medical students while simultaneously being a part of the training-the-trainer program at international universities.
Her commitment to faculty training, undergraduate education, pedagogy and student counseling has been recognized in her field receiving accolades and certificates, and while working in Southeast Asia, Sima was awarded the provincial Friendship Award which recognizes contributions made by expatriates to the development of the country in such domains as science and technology, economy, education, culture and health.
Sima Sarvari, MD, AFAMEE, has studied, worked, and lived in various countries across several continents and is passionate about education and health in underserved and minority communities, participating in philanthropic events and activities whenever and wherever possible.
