Biography

Davina Amiri is a transactional attorney, focusing on Entertainment/Media, Technology, Intellectual Property, and Business matters since 2006. Davina provides legal counsel to a vast breath of business and individual clients in software, media, talent, management, production, skin care, music, and film, both international and domestic. Whether providing strategic business advice or negotiating agreements, she practices at the intersection of business and legal. Davina navigates a vast array of issues for businesses such as employment, privacy, and intellectual property.

Davina gives Copyright Law presentations in conjunction with The Center for Active Learning. Past events include, “Legal Advice for Creatives,” (2012) and “It’s Mine! – How To Own Your Creative Tech Property; A Practical Copyright Overview,” (2013).

In 2013, Davina founded MusicianRights.org, an organization which promotes fair and balanced contract standards for doing business in the music industry.

Davina is dedicated to providing pro bono legal services. She gives legal advice to artists through the Entertainment, Arts, and Sports Law section (EASL) of the New York State Bar Association and Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts. She is on the Board of the Iranian-American Bar Association of NY and is Chair of the PR committee. Additionally, She represents unaccompanied minors for asylum through the non-profit, Kids In Need of Defense.
