Biography

Farah Majidzadeh came to the United States in 1960 after receiving her Nursing Degree from the School of Nursing & Homeopathic Medicine in London, England. In 1973, Ms. Majidzadeh started Resource International, Inc. (Rii) as a one-person company from the basement of her home, which has grown to a successful and diverse firm still operating under her management. Rii is a full-service civil engineering firm specializing in planning, design, construction management, asset management and information technology services.

Ms. Majidzadeh was the first woman appointed to the Board of Directors for the International Road Federation (IRF) – an international organization consisting of more than 1000 members and 85 countries; Executive Director and Vice Chairperson of IRF; Chairperson of the International Road Education Foundation (IREF).

She led an international joint venture of Greek, American and Saudi firms, “Highway Maintenance Associates”, where she served in an unprecedented position of Chairperson from 1987-2002. The firm developed a state-of-the-art, integrated highway maintenance management system for the Government of Saudi Arabia.

Farah has been committed to the education of minorities and women as reflected in her involvement as the IREF Chairperson of Development committee, having scholarships at The Ohio State University and Otterbein University for female and minority students. She serves on the Advisory Council of the IAWF.
