Biography | Dr. Zohreh M. Niknia is a Visiting Professor at the Department of Economics, Mills College. Her teaching and research interests are: Women and the Economy, Gender and Migration, Economic Development, and Economics of Oil. She has been a Visiting Scholar at the Department of Women Studies, University of California-Berkeley, and the Women’s Leadership Institute at Mills College. She has taught at University of California-Berkeley, California State University-Sacramento, and University of Missouri. She is the recipient of several awards, including: the Outstanding Dissertation Award, Teaching Excellence Award, and Fulbright-Hays Fellowship Award. She has done research, writing, and presentations on Iranian Women Immigrants in the U.S. Zohreh has a BA, in Economics; from University of Minnesota, and MA and PhD in Economics; from University of Missouri. She currently lives in Berkeley California with her husband, Morteza. She considers her three children, Sam, Kaveh, and Haleh, her proudest accomplishment. |
