Biography

Since 2011, Azadeh Meshkaty has worked with the U.S. Department of Labor Women’s Bureau on policy research projects and communication tools that address a wide spectrum of issues affecting women workers, including education, employment opportunity, workplace rights, equal pay, poverty and workplace accommodations. Through her research, Meshkaty strives to inform public policy and provide actionable steps to improve prospects for competitive employment, pay equity and the advancement of women at work.

Meshkaty earned her Master of Public Policy from the Georgetown University McCourt School of Public Policy in 2010, where she focused on determinants of gender gap reduction in educational attainment. She earned her B.A. from New York University’s Gallatin School where she researched the roles of nationalism and Islam in modern Iran.
