Biography

Jami Zamyad is an Iranian-born American citizen who immigrated to California in the mid 70’s. She is a Registered Dietitian with an MS in nutrition and food science. In her current role as Director of Clinical Nutrition at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital (LPCH), Stanford, she oversees a team of 43 clinical dietitians in 56 specialty services among 45 locations throughout Northern California. Jami will be completing her doctorate degree in April 2019 with focus on functional/integrative nutrition. Her passion for nutrition has led her through a diverse path covering the age continuum in various settings. Her interest sparked as a child while watching her mom prepare meals from scratch using fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds with fresh herbs and spices.
Jami’s holistic approach to health involves preventative care with a thorough review of all internal body systems and the external influences that alter an individual’s wellbeing and health status. Good nutrition and healthy eating are only one piece of many moving parts. Her approach is individualized, comprehensive and devoid of fad and quick fixes. Jami strongly believes that healing involves empowering individuals with the knowledge and skills to embrace their uniqueness and listen to what works best for them.
In her leisure time, Jami loves to cook and create easy healthy recipes, spend time with family and friends, giggle for no reason, loud music and live concerts, choreographed dancing, chick flicks, training for marathons, the ocean breeze, and moon lit nights.
