Mitra obtained her Bachelor of Science in Accounting & Finance from the University of Mazandaran in Iran and her Master of Business Administration from California State University, Stanislaus (MBA). Master of Accountancy-DeVry University, Keller Graduate school of Management (MAS), Emphasize of certified public Accounting (CPA in Progress).
Mitra has License of IRS Tax Resolution & AFSP, and California Tax Education council (CTEC). She Completed Roger and Backer CPA Review courses.
Mitra spent the first 12 years of her Accounting & Finance practice working in few big corporations such as Sun Microsystem, FMC United Defiance, Sony Corporation, and Watking-Jonson in Pala Alto. In 2001, Mitra founded her own Accounting practice, Behnam Accounting Solutions, Inc, and has focused her practice on general business consulting, Accounting, Auditing, and Tax Service. Mitra is founder and has been active at Roya Foundation (International Alliance to Assist Children). She served as a board of Advisory at ITT Institute Technology, Treasury of West side pioneer, Tracy Mausam,

Ambassador of Tracy Chamber of Commerce, and Tracy Community Task Force on Homelessness. Mitra was candidate for Tracy Unified School District Board of Trustee.
