Fatemeh Etemad Moghadam is currently professor of economics at Hofstra University. She received her D.Phil in Economics from Oxford University (1978) and holds an MA (Columbia University) and a BA (Barnard College) in economics. Her research and publications focus on economic history, gender economics, and agricultural economics. She has undertaken extensive field research in Iran as well as Dubai, Egypt, Jordan, and Yemen. Her recent research and publications are largely focused on institutional aspects of female labor force participation and entrepreneurship. She was Executive Secretary and President (1996-1999) of Middle East Economic Association and has served on boards of a number of other professional associations.
Fatemeh Etemad Moghadam is married and mother of twin daughters.
