Biography

Dordaneh (Dori) Davari founded her own boutique strategic management consulting firm (Dorsa Management Consulting) in Iran right after graduating college and ran it for almost eleven years (1998-2009). The company had a very good sales performance, expanded quickly, and had a 100 percent client retention record during her tenure. Defining entrepreneurship as “making change,” she believes that a key to her success has been relationship management toward long-term goals. While managing Dorsa, shealso personally led liaison and fundraising activities for Iran Institute of Industrial Engineering (a higher education association) and the Confederation of Iran Industry (an umbrella organization of more than 60 industrial associations). She has several publications, including an earlier co-authored book on theory and practice of strategic management and a volume on strategic management for NGOs, as well as more recent “Iranian Feminism,” published in The Multimedia Encyclopedia of Women in Today’s World (2011). Ms. Davari has undergraduate and graduate degrees in industrial and systems engineering from leading universities in Iran, as a well as a second master’s degree in planning from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Last year she obtained her third master’s degree in management studies from MIT. She is currently a freelance consultant in strategic marketing in Washington DC and evaluating career opportunities in which she can make use of her advanced studies and global market perspectives.
