Biography

Rassa Davoodpour is a Manager with the Office of Special Projects (OSP), Department of General Services, in the Montgomery County Government (MCG) Maryland responsible for planning, design, and construction of special projects assigned by the Director of DGS or the County Executive.

Rassa is managing the Smart Growth Initiative Program which involves moving and expanding existing uses to different facilities from a macro perspective that would provide the County with better long-term solutions for public facility needs.

She has also been involved with implementing Commissioning since 1988. She believes commissioning is part of design philosophy providing a method of virtual construction during design and verification during construction.

She developed the 1996 National Institutes of Health (NIH) Building Design Policy and Guidelines as well as the Commissioning Plan and Commissioning Guide for MCG.

She has also been actively involved in Iranian communities since her arrival in the U.S. in 1979.

She serves on the Board of Directors for the Iran Cultural and Educational Center (ICEC) a non-profit organization. The center offers classes to over 200 K-8 students from across the metropolitan area and preserves and promotes Iranian culture through ICEC curricular and extracurricular activities.

She has obtained her Mechanical Engineering degree (a transferee from Aryamehr University, Tehran/Iran) from The George Washington University, Washington D.C.
