Biography

Ms. Saadat is the product lead for Structured Trade Finance at the International Finance Corporation- IFC- the private sector lending arm of the World Bank Group. She assumed this responsibility having managed the Operations of IFC’s Global Trade Liquidity Finance Program, a $4 billion public-private initiative to support trade in emerging markets during the 2008 financial crisis. In the more than 20 years tenor at the World Bank Group, she has worked in Africa, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe, and accumulated extensive experience in emerging markets. She has led teams to assess banks and companies for investments by IFC, and conducted economic policy analyses. She has also managed a fixed income portfolio, investing in a variety of sovereign, corporate bonds in the US, European and Japanese markets. She co-founded and managed a global macro hedge fund during a leave from the IFC. Ms. Saadat holds a PhD and MALD in International Development Economics from the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy, Tufts University, Massachusetts, and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Economics in Grenoble, France.
