Nikta Shahbaz Hometown: San Diego

Nikta is a student at the University of San Diego majoring in Interdisciplinary Humanities and minoring in Political Science. As the founder and president of the Law, Ethics, and Technology club at USD and the organization, Tech in Society, Nikta is passionate about technology and its implications for individual rights. As a Keck Fellow and Research Scholar for a USD Law Professor, Nikta researches the intersection of law and AI developments, and has participated in conferences across the U.S. Along with running her organizations, Nikta serves as a Student Representative on the Associated Students Academic Review Council and as a Chair Member of the Student Conduct Leadership Team. She is also a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity, USD Club Ultimate Frisbee Team, Mortar Board Honor Society, and Phi Beta Kappa. She is also the Young Generation Co-President of the International Society for Children with Cancer. For her academic excellence, Nikta has received First Honors on the Dean’s List every semester.
