Biography

Roya Hayatdavoudi is a licensed marriage and family therapist with a private practice in Laguna Hills, CA. She has been providing therapeutic services to clients for over 20 years. During her career as a mental health professional, she sat on the board of Pilgrimage Family Therapy Center, a non-profit Organization, and later elected as their President. Roya was the co-founder of the Iranian American Mental Health Society, where she also served as program director, treasurer and was elected to the board of IAMHS. She was instrumental in developing community education programs in cooperation with Irvine Regional and Kaiser Permanente hospitals. The programs were designed to promote better mental health and wellbeing within the Iranian American community. Roya authored a 52 week domestic violence program that was approved by Orange County Courts and Department of Probation. As the only certified instructor of the program she provided the course in 4 languages, French, Italian, Afghani and Farsi, which met the needs of the local diverse community. In addition to the domestic violence program she developed court approved programs for Parenting Through Divorce, Co-parenting, court ordered Anger Management for Teens and Adults and Effective Parenting. Roya has a long history of volunteer work with victims of violence and advocacy for children via foundations focused on helping children in need or at risk. She has continued to expand her areas of expertise to include a certification as a divorce mediator.
