Biography

Sudabeh (Sudi) Farokhnia is a flexible yet decisive Risk Manager with years of experience in Internal Audit Management for one of the top three largest US financial institutions. She is a service-oriented person who has a passion for doing the right-thing and helping others. She was born and raised in Tehran, Iran until age of 17 and migrated in 1985 to Germany and shortly after to Michigan where she obtained her double bachelors in Accounting and Finance from Oakland University. All along she actively built a great network of Iranian-Americans and with help of 4 other friends, they established for the first time the “Persia House of MI” in an attempt to preserve and grow Iranian culture, language and art. She has dedicated her life to helping first-time immigrants get settled in US and has mentored numerous students in bypassing the cross-cultural challenges and continuing their path to success. She moved to California in 2002 and along with working full time in her career path, she quickly became involved in various charities, mainly “ISCC/Mahak”, where she met wonderful group of young Iranian volunteers who helped her find the way to serve her passion “Gender Equality”. Sudi found herself in the heart of the Iranian-American community through active participation in “One Million Signature Campaign” where she found her second identity as a “Human Rights Activist”. Her strengths include outstanding planning skills with innate attention to details, positive and accountable team player with can-do attitude.
