Join IAW for a virtual panel conversation with rising star authors Alexandra Monir, Sara Farizan & Sara Saedi as they discuss their acclaimed young adult novels, and writing Iranian girls into popular culture. This event is geared toward all ages, so be sure to share with the young readers in your life!

ALEXANDRA MONIR is an author and recording artist with seven novels published thus far, beginning with her debut, Timeless (a Barnes & Noble Bestseller and an Amazon.com “Best Book of the Month”). She published the hit sci-fi novel The Final Six with HarperCollins in 2018, with Sony Pictures optioning the film rights. A sequel, The Life Below, followed in 2020. Alexandra was recently selected to write the first-ever YA novel about DC Comics superhero Black Canary for the New York Times-bestselling DC Icons series, which was published on December 29th (Black Canary: Breaking Silence). Alexandra's next novel is a historical fantasy for Disney about Princess Jasmine, which will publish in Fall 2022.

SARA FARIZAN's debut novel, If You Could Be Mine, won the Ferro-Grumley Award, the Edmund White Award and the Lambda Literary Award for Children's/Young Adult Literature in 2014, and was named to the American Library Association Rainbow List as one of the year's best LGBT-themed books. Her other novels are Tell Me Again How a Crush Should Feel, which was again named to the Rainbow List for 2015 and received two starred reviews, and Here to Stay, which Entertainment Weekly called "a powerful YA novel about identity and prejudice."

SARA SAEDI is the author of the 2018 YA memoir Americanized: Rebel Without a Green Card, which received four starred reviews and was named a Best Book of the Year by NYPL, Chicago Public Library, and School Library Journal. Sara is also a screenwriter who has written for shows such as iZombie, Grand Hotel, Katy Keene, and Green Lantern. Her next novel, a YA contemporary, will publish in Fall 2022.
