Member Spotlight
Maryam Salemi Dickey

Maryam Dickey opened Pishi Design Fine Jewelry in 2010, where she has continued her lifelong commitment to designing and creating jewelry. Training at the jewelry school of Van Cleef and Arpels in Paris, she learned to work in a wide variety of styles and refine her skills to select the most exquisite materials. Her work is one-of-a-kind jewelry and demonstrates a true level of workmanship.

Simultaneously simple and complicated, her work is greatly influenced by her deep spirituality as well as her frequent travels around the world as a young woman. Womanhood is celebrated greatly in her art, with a focus on pearls as a form she cherishes for its celebration of femininity. Visit her website here.

Iranian American Women's Leadership
Conference, New York

Just around the corner is our biannual Iranian American Women's Leadership Conference, hosted in New York City on October 18th, 2015! This day-long conference will be another opportune event to celebrate our community and honor our sisters while growing ourselves through the cultural and professional experience.

Congratulations to Dr. Nayareh Tohidi  for establishing an incredibly successful

interdisciplinary minor in Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies!

Nayereh is the founding Director of the interdisciplinary minor at the Cal State University, Fullerton, as well as a professor and former Chair at the Department of Gender and Women Studies. She is the recipient of multiple grants and fellowships. Along with her research in gender, ethnic, and modernity domains, she has put at the forefront of her work a focus on human and women's rights, striving towards activism in her work as a consultant for organizations such as the U.N. among women NGOs. We wish her best of luck in this and offer another round of congratulations to her for all of her achievements!
