Biography

In over three decades of professional experience, Dr. Bellisario has held executive strategy, marketing, and technical positions with major firms such as Intel, Analog Devices, BBN (Raytheon), Booz-Allan and Hamilton, as well as MIT and a number startups. Most recently she managed MIT’s portfolio in Electronics, Communications, and Semiconductors encompassing over 500 inventions, where she licensed over 80 patents and cases in a span of 3 years. Currently she is advisor to MIT Sandbox Innovation, working with startup grantee teams and advising the program on IP and business issues, as well as investigating factors affecting commercialization relevant to Sandbox program. She is the founder of Transtrategy Inc., a consulting firm specializing in commercializing technology in advanced materials and semiconductors. Her major clients include investment firms, major manufacturers of semiconductor and materials, prominent management consulting firms, venture capitalist, as well as two major universities. She holds a doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering, and an MBA from Sloan School of management, both at MIT. Dr. Bellisario teaches annual workshops on commercializing and valuation of technology in Spain. Most recently, she presented a workshop on commercial value and impact of technology for Boston Biomedical Innovation Center, and affiliate of Harvard Medical School and Parters health care. She also has presented multiple workshops in Madrid, Barcelona, and Koc university in Istanbul, Turkey. She has written and spoken on commercialization and have been a mentor for many startups.
