Biography

Ms. Jila Ajeli Kashef is the founder and president of Keep Children in School Foundation (KCIS), based in Los Angeles, and Anjomane Yarane Danesh va Mehr, a sister organization of KCIS in Iran. These two organizations were created with the mission of keeping less fortunate children of Iran and Afghanistan in school. She also served as a board member of the Iranian Children’s Right Society (ICRS), supporting Working-Children’s Rights in Iran.
Jila began her humanitarian activities at an early age, working in one of the Centers of School of Social Work, established by Mrs. Setareh Farman Farmaian in Iran.
Jila graduated from University of Kassel in Germany in Agricultural Engineering. She immigrated to the States and continued her education in Information Technology, which led her to a long career in IT at Sony Pictures Entertainment. An early retirement, due to Health Opportunity gave Jila the chance to continue her passion for Keeping Children in School, all while taking care of her wellbeing.
