Lily Mottahedan is a barrister at 1 Hare Court in London, the UK’s leading family law chambers specialising in matrimonial finance. She has appeared in courts all over the country at all levels up to the Court of Appeal and has particular expertise in cases with an international element. In 2016, Lily was named as one of Management Today’s “35 women under 35” an award featured in the Sunday Times as well as Management Today magazine. Before deciding to pursue a career at the Bar, Lily was an investment banker in the UK Mergers & Acquisitions team at Merrill Lynch in London. Outside of the law, Lily is a trustee of IKWRO Women’s Rights Organisation, a charity which provides support to women from the Middle-East, Turkey, Afghanistan and North Africa in the UK on issues including but not limited to “Honour” Based Violence, Forced Marriage, and Female Genital Mutilation. Lily holds a First Class BA degree in Modern History from Christ Church, Oxford, a Graduate Diploma in Law from the College of Law (Distinction) and completed the Bar Professional Training Course (Outstanding).
