Naz Afshar joined Gursey Schneider LLP in June 2000 and was admitted to the partnership in 2007. Prior to joining the firm, Naz was a tax manager with the international accounting firm of KPMG. She has over 25 years of experience in tax, accounting and business consulting serving small to middle market closely held businesses, professional services companies, non-profit organizations, high net worth individuals and estate and trusts in the following industries: retail, manufacturing, post-production, law firms, real estate and real estate professionals as well as professionals in the entertainment industry. In this capacity, Naz has developed expertise in the following subject areas: multi-state income and franchise tax matters (C corporations, S corporations, partnerships, Limited Liability Companies, and estates and trusts including preparing trust accountings, and non-profit organization tax compliance.

Naz has expertise in preparing annual accountings in standard court format for many trust and estate clients which are required to be filed in court and/or used for litigation purposes in proceedings regarding trust and estate matters with assets on hand in the six figure plus range and for time periods as long as 20 years in cases where accountings were not performed on an annual basis.

Naz advocates being fully involved when it comes to assisting her clients in business and personal decisions and matters that impact their finances. She approaches business with fresh ideas and likes to help her clients. She works closely with her clients’ outside professional advisors to optimize tax planning and to help her clients preserve their wealth and to pass on their legacy to the next generation. She believes in the community and works closely with several non-profit organizations.

Naz is currently a member of the California Society of Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Beverly Hills Bar Association and the Beverly Hills Estate Planning Council.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and economics from Colorado State University and has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1995.
