Biography

Sanaz Rezai is completing her doctorate of musical arts degree at UCLA, with the emphasis on piano performance. She was born in Iran and raised in Vienna/Austria and San Diego . Ms. Rezai began her piano studies at the age of 8. At the age of 11, she received the 2nd prize at the International Bösendorfer Competition. She has studies with one of the world’s most renowned piano pedagogues Jane Bastien. With her tutelage Sanaz participates in many festivals and won numerous prizes. Sanaz started teaching Piano at the young age of 12, since then she has thought hundreds of students. Sanaz attended California State University, Fullerton and studied with Eduardo Delgado. She received her Bachelors of Music in piano, graduating with cum laude honors and awarded the best undergraduate pianist, won the Grossmont Community Concert Association Competition, and received the Fenstermaker Scholarship. Sanaz has taken part in many music festivals, offered solo recitals and performed as a soloist with orchestras and wind ensembles. Besides being assistant to Walter Ponce and teaching some of the music classes, she also teaches German language at UCLA. She hopes to keep performing and teaching at the university in the future.
