Biography

Susie Gharib is an award-winning business TV anchor who has had a distinguished career working at some of America’s most prestigious print and broadcast organizations, including CNBC, NBC, ABC and PBS-TV. Gharib spent more than 16 years as Co-Anchor of PBS-TV’s “Nightly Business Report” where she covered everything from Wall Street and the economy to behind-the-scenes storytelling of the world’s business royalty.

Susie is Anchor and Senior Special Correspondent for Fortune, where her video interviews cover news topics as well as leadership lessons with top CEOs and business leaders for Fortune.com.

Gharib is known for her no-nonsense interview style of Corporate America’s leading power brokers from Wall Street to Washington. Her interviews have included Berkshire Hathaway’s Warren Buffett, Microsoft’s Bill Gates, J.P. Morgan’s Jamie Dimon, General Motors’ Mary Barra, Bank of America’s Brian Moynihan, BlackRock’s Larry Fink, FedEx’s Fred Smith, Ford Motor’s Bill Ford, Delta Airlines’ Ed Bastian, CVS Health’s Larry Merlo, Nestle’s Mark Schneider, and Procter & Gamble’s David Taylor. She has interviewed former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan and most of the Fed’s policymakers. Gharib has also been welcomed into the White House several times to interview President Bill Clinton and President George W. Bush.

In 2001, Gharib received a Gracie Allen Award as the top anchorwoman of a national news program. In both 2002 and 2007, she was a recipient of the “Front Page Award” from the Newswoman’s Club of New York. She also won the 2012 Fulbright Award for furthering global business understanding. In 2013, Gharib received the prestigious Elliot V. Bell award from the New York Financial Writers Association for her significant contribution to financial journalism, as well her second Gracie Allen Award for NBR’s profile of Harvard University’s first female president Drew Gilpin Faust. In 2016, she was recognized with a third Gracie award for her Fortune series, “From the Corner Office,” where she interviewed female CEOs heading General Motors, Lockheed Martin, Mondelez International and HSN-Home Shopping Network on leadership lessons.

A magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Case Western Reserve University, Gharib also earned her Master’s Degree in International Affairs at Columbia University. She is on the Board of Trustees of Case Western Reserve University, the Board of Advisors of Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, and a member and former Trustee of the Economic Club of New York.
